Normally we don't bore you with Latin details, but this hybrid is rare and completely unknown except to the lucky few who have had our grower as a source instead of the ordinary Jacaranda

The "standard" Jacaranda is Jacaranda acutifolia, but today we have an outstanding improved hybrid.  Our grower (very expert in all flowering trees) tells us this is his cross of J. cusbitafolia with J. mimosifolia

What is better ?

     1 - The main attribute is quick-to-flower

Standard Jacaranda can take 10 years from seed to flower whereas this hybrid often blooms in it's 3rd or 4th year

Very few major flowering trees perform that fast

Every year thereafter, blooms are much heavier

What else ?

     2 - It is faster growing

We saw this hybrid in a 15-gal pot that was already 12 feet tall in it's 2nd year.  Our grower told us in your landscape, this Jacaranda grows even better (with room for roots to take hold)

It has sweet light green colored leaves of fine texture like the Royal Poinciana. When not in bloom, the trees can be hard to tell apart.  This hybrid Jacaranda also produces a wonderful broken shade beneath during the hot months when you need protection the most

Jacaranda is a large, deciduous intensely flowering shade tree very excellent for Zone 9, 10 and warm parts of Zone 8

Under this fine broken shade, you can grow most any sun sensitive plant you want

In the Jacaranda branches, you can grow orchids, ferns, bromeliads, etc as the broken shade is perfect for air plants

Expect your Jacaranda blooms with attractive blue trumpet flowers in spring starting about April and continuing to as late as June
